3 maintenance oil filter

Most users should know when to replace oil, but it is necessary for a principle:

New motos in (0-1000 Km), only replace the oil in the end of breaking-in period which is 1,200 km ,you shouldn’t replace at 300, 500 , Or 800 kilometers . Because  the engine is added a valuable things by  the factory  workers,  replacing  early will cause unnecessary waste. During the run-in period, you can replace oil once in each 2,000 -3000 kilometers , do iy by yourself .

However, when you replace with  new oil ,the filter replaced is not necessary. in the term of engine lubricated , oil pump absorbs oil from the slot , first push oil into the oil filter to  filtrate,  transport the clear oil to the cylinder head, crankshaft and transmission parts. If the filter is dirty,  effect of  filtration is bad, all parts could not get better lubrication ,it may cause excessive wearing, so when you replace oil you must replace the filter at the same time.

Note: in the filter, there is a small of O-shape ring, be sure the part with hole inside ; filter is covered with large O

2  maintenance of air filter

Air Filter is the respiratory of motorcycle. If the air filter is blocked by dust  the air incoming resistance will become bigger, engine output will decline and  fuel consumpting increase, it is more difficult to start engines and easily quenched, if dust enter into the cylinder ,the engine would have more wear .  according to the following steps when clean air filter:

1)take off air filtersfrom from the moto;

2) if the filter is made by sponge foam ,you can clran with neutral detergent solution carefully ,dont pinch hard,  dry in air,give 2-3 drops oil to it ( prevent small dust  from the air ), install it on former status , if  filter is made by  paper, no cleaning with liquid ,you can  hit inside dust hard, if allowed you can blow it the opposite direction using compressed gas (be sure not blowing to anti-side, Otherwise it will be more serious obstruction); cases: QS150T Paper Core blown from the inside out, from the turmoil Prince Edward To blow holes in the outer ring.

3) pay attention to the direction of installation and inside air when install filter back

4)  you should increase more times of cleaning  when in a dusty, dirty environment , filter must be raplaced immediately when the sponge is bursted or  paper is soaked .  otherwise engine will be damaged and give smoke.

In the use of the motorcycle, some maintenance can be done by ourselves. This will reduce the trouble to go to repairing shop and save our time, in other hand make you know more about motorcycle’s maintenance if you have trouble on  road, you can resolve  byself .

1,  maintenance of spark plugs

spark plugs are the key components of motorcycle engine . The mixture of gas combusting  is the  key operation for engine . First, every engine has different spark plugs in style ,  main difference is the  thread size and the size of screw thread.so  you must use required Model Spark Plug (specific reference instruction manual). if the  engine work nomal, the spark plug  electrode should be red , if black, it means carbon deposition, the mixture gas is too dense and is not burning inadequate, carbon  deposition should be clear . Cleaning up the central electrode cavity and L-polar carbon deposition with tip, adjusting the spark plug gap: GS125 (0.6-0.9mm), QS150T (0.7 -0.8 mm), carbon deposition on spark plugs  will effect sparks and may lead to fire off; if  burned spark plug is damp or ash white, the spark plug calorific value does not match, you  should goto Qingqi Suzuki repairing shop to replace the spark plug compatible. (backup new spark plugs).

Note:

1) to determine the size and thread Cypriot-length. if too short, carbon deposition will deposit in the hole at thread to  demage the engine.

2) be carefully spin the spark plug in the thread of cylinder head before useing the spark plug wrench,in case to damage .

3) spin spark plug tightening to fastening torque  using  special spark plug sleeve attendant  tools.

maintenance of blast pipe.
blast pipes of four stroke motorcycle is seldom blocked  if there is no trouble of burning the oil for a long time, instead we often see phenomenon that the blast pipe is replaced for filter’s core dropping off or the cover being burned . So I dont agree the method of ” four stroke to exhaust space flight to strain core dismantle and wash office motorcycle “, we should pour a little engine oil from gas vent into  pipe ,I think the method not only can slow down the impact of waste gas to  core but also lengthen the life of the blast pipe.

generally maintaince is to spray  lubricating oil to the rear wheel while rolling chain  until roller chain becomes moist. Be careful not to lubricate with solid lubricant such as the butter, otherwise it will cling sand to chains , increase the coefficient of friction, wearing and tearing  would be higher . When the roller chain is dirty you should take off it, soaked it by kerosene or petrol, scrub and  wash the sprocket at the same time, dry, add the lubricating oil to maintain.

1, do not form the habit of  fueling quickly

(1) many friends like to fuel rapidly after start,   it is in dry friction state between the components when the engine starts , if you fuel suddenly the rotational speed  rise very much , it would make a increasing attrition.

(2) When fuel suddenly, the main injection needle of carburetor raises rapidly, the main nozzle spouts many fuel oils, the  pump also  blowout fuel oil corresponding, mixture air enrich  and  massive gasolines enter into  cylindernot whitout full atomizating, it will flush the lubricating oil on the wall which causes the cylinder jacket and the piston attrition aggravating.This is biggest harm of the bad habit .

(3)When fuel or stop suddenly , actuators such as bent axle, connecting rod, clutch,etc. are shocked very largely which will cause and strike violently even  piston to lean towards and rub  very much and connecting rod being crooked  .

(4)When fuel or stop suddenly , rotational speed of the engine changes quickly which will cause the fast damage of the other attachments of the engine.

2, form habit of starting in low swith instead of high swith. Generally motorcycle of 125ml can start at the highest swith,  but it don’t mean that is all right. Because every swith is designed in rang of  pace ,this is good to maintenance of moto , startting at high swith often can accelerate striking and wearing of the gearbox .

3, form habit of shut resolute, put from shut gentle and agreeable tactics.

4, running with  moderate speed is good to maintaince.
engine rotating with  moderate speed  is the best state when  it is designed, it is the of basic condition for measuring different  performances(such as the economic oil consumption). many tests from lubricated condition, heat dissipation result, air resistance, apply the brake result,etc. prove that motorcycle running with moderate speed is good, such as safe, fuel-efficient, maintenance of the moto too.

cleaning carburetor according to the fact

The carburetor is the oil atomizated place, I don’t approve to clean carburetor  every 4000km  , and advocate  according to the running condition, because:

1st, the carburetor clean nothing but oil impurity which blocks oil hole  , if it is jammed the effect will directly display  by sppeed up not good and idling unstable so on , it will not be able to  decrease the moto’s life.

2nd,  source pollution of the carburetor is from gasoline which is double filtered through the oil drainage switch on mesh and the filter bowl , after enters the carburetor,  it can enter the allocation hole through the floating chamber precipitation .Therefore, running 10000km  is not able generally to affect, when the performance is bad then cleaning.Certainly, if moto frequently run on road with much dust  you should clean it frequency.
3nd,if you check carburetor more often the leak tightness of inside and around connecting is effected,it will effect the oil’s nebulization to increase the consuming of oil.

The function of air filter is to filter  air moisture content, the dust and the impurity molecule of air which enters the carburetor, in order to reduce the attrition of cylinder  .

If the air filter haven’t been cleaned for a  long time , the moto can still  start generally, it lookes that  no affect on moto’s performance apparently, but in fact the dust and impurity which is adsorbed by the filter  are many, those would  jam  the hole of filter,and make input-air reducde , which can cause the power to drop, the oil quantity increasing, some small impurities also could enter in the engine,  making moreattritiona nd reducing organism life.

The filter element adds the liquid detergent lavation with the clear water, then with dryings up and so on compressed air or natural wind, cannot seek after the convenience to clean with the gasoline, otherwise can speed up filters the hole the expansion, reduces the filtration.After cleans the spatial filter, the filter element may spurt on the little machine oil evenly, this already may increase the filtration, as soon as also can enable gas everywhere one visit the part many to share benefit slides (is specially carburetor plunger).

If discovered the filter element filters the hole fill-out, must replace the same type filter element as soon as possible, otherwise can reduce the filtration, speeds up the part the attrition.

fully  preheating the moto before starting

This is quite advantageous method to the motorcycle maintenance which needs patience actually  .machine oil in major components of the engine  has already flowed out when the motorcycle stop working three hours, there is little oil on the surface the components or even no more. if the moto works without preheating process,  dry friction happen between the components which would cause keen wearing at the components,the more load is the more wearing is.so the preheating is necessary.
preheating is the process that the engine idles  without any load to let  oil reach  every components of moto,
prpotecting layer of oil forms at this time ,the function of machine oil displays , this is a protecting process before start will be able to reduce the engineion  greatly.

The time of preheating  is depend  on the air temperature and time on which  oil can get to .Because the lower temperature is , the bigger machine oil viscosity is , the machine oil conductivity is worse, and the preheating time is longer .in  general  is 1-2 minute at summer, in cold winter is 3-5 minute.
